If I say UK, what is the first thing that comes up in your mind? Let me guess, London?
Everybody thinks that the United Kingdom means London, wrong! There are plenty of beautiful places that this country can offer to the world.
In this post (and in the others that will come) I will show you that the UK is very big and it hasn’t got only one “city”.
Today, I will show you LLANDUDNO.
Llandudno is a seaside town, located on the Creuddyn peninsula, which protrudes into the Irish Sea. Has got only 20’000 souls, like mine old hometown (but better than that). The town’s name is derived from its patron saint, Saint Tudno. Llandudno is got the title of “Queen of the Welsh Resorts”, is now the largest seaside resort in Wales, and lies on a flat isthmus of sand between the Welsh mainland and the Great Orme.
I went there with my homies. We start from Chester, the journey took us only 1 hour by car, not a big deal (I actually slept all time long, even the return). When we arrived we parked the car and we went straight to eat something. We went to Ham Bone, a bistro just two blocks far from the sea. Oh. My. God. It was amazing, one of the best burger I have ever been eaten… and was even cheap! I really recommend you to go there, you will not regret, trust me.
After that we had a walk up to the Happy valley, where there’s the promenade. I actually understand why is called happy valley, because seriously makes you happy. You climb that mountain and when you look back, you see all the bay, you can breathe the freedom, you can say louder “I DID, I CLIMBED IT”…even if there is a small street that can take you to the top or use the air cabin… but who cares, is cool when you do on your own!
After took some pictures we went back to the sea-side and straight to the pier where few pints of beer where waiting for us.
Llandudno is really a nice place, you can pass good time with your friends, with your partner and with your family. There are lots of things to do, a part from hiking and climbing you can even do some water sports or going to skiing and snowboarding during the winter time.
Ah, you can even learn another language as Wales if you like. Everything is written in Welsh and English. You can try, but thing that is already hard to spell/pronounce the name of the town.
